Our R&D process is a balancing act of exploration and refinement, introducing fresh possibilities while honouring the character and integrity of our existing collections. Every potential finish or detail must sit naturally within our collections and prove itself in the realities of daily life.
As well as visiting design fairs and exhibitions all over the world, our R&D team draw on the combined experience of our Sales Designers and manufacturing teams who offer a constant flow of real-world insight. This means that when we release new products, they act as a true enhancement of our offering, not an experiment.

The initial design visit is all about you. We listen, imagine and design in collaboration to build a vision that speaks to you in both form and function.
It’s a calm, considered conversation where your designer begins to shape ideas around the practical requirements of the space, but also your individual taste, your lifestyle and the feeling you want to create.

During your design visit your designer will:
1. Ask how you want to feel in this space
2. Take time to understand your lifestyle and your project
3. Explore the room in detail, considering light, flow, and architecture
4. Capture precise measurements so every element fits flawlessly
5. Shape an early picture of what your space could become
6. Offer an initial indicative cost and help you shape it to your budget
7. Guide you on thoughtful design decisions
8. Share tactile samples, colours and finishes to experience quality first-hand
Mastering the fine details
Once you’ve approved your design, we work to ensure every element will turn out perfectly before anything even hits the production line. A specialist Surveyor will visit your home to understand the space in meticulous detail. They’ll capture every measurement, nuance and architectural feature so your furniture can be crafted with absolute accuracy.
Behind the scenes, our Drawing Office brings all of this information together. This is where your project is examined from every angle, and where potential challenges are resolved long before they reach your home. Every proportion, joint and connection is designed to the last millimetre, even in the most complex spaces.
It’s an extraordinary level of detail – and much of it goes unseen. This quiet rigour protects your investment and ensures lasting quality through your 10-year guarantee and beyond.

Once your design is fully resolved, our craftspeople and installers bring it to life with exceptional care. Because every piece is made to order, nothing exists before your commission begins. Every cut, curve and finish is shaped specifically for your space, handcrafted by experts whose skill you can see and feel in the final result.
This level of precision is labour‑intensive – hand‑sanding, hand‑painting and careful assembly are all part of the process – but it’s what ensures your furniture is beautifully made, flawlessly finished and built to last.
